About Emissions Repair
Vehicles to be registered in Texas are required to pass an annual inspection to ensure compliance with State Standards. While safety inspections are required throughout the state, they will cease to be needed as of January 1, 2025.
Emissions testing is and will continue to be required of vehicles inspected in 17 Texas counties to comply with federally mandated clean air requirements.

The very important MIL also known as the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT in cars will cause a car to fail its EMISSIONS inspection. A simple reading of the onboard computer does not always tell you what is wrong. At times the sensors are working correctly and if you follow the scanner reading of replacing such sensor it is not going to fix your problem. The correct way to approach an MIL to is follow and test accordingly. A passageway might be blocked, broken or non existent, hence causing other sensors to go off. Rememeber that a parts store job is to sell parts. If you are interested in repairing your vehicle, visit a repair center. If you have tested and know what part you actually need then the parts store will be your best bet to solve this problem.
